As you know, I've been on the hunt for a full-time job for the past couple of months. I haven't really tried hard in finding a job because what I am doing now is going okay and I want to find the right fit for me. I've now potentially found 2 jobs that could come my way. They are completely opposite in fields and have totally different pros and cons. The pay is also WAY different. And, I have NO IDEA what to do. :(
Job #1 - better money, 45 minute commute, 2 man office and a lot of responsibilty, possibly a job I'll keep for many years. Did I say better money?? Yeah! Good benefits.
Job #2 - in the teaching field at my son's elementary school, pay is AWFUL. I'd be bringing in around the same amount of money I bring in now, would motivate me to possibly get my teacher certification and move forward with that dream. Insurance is paid 100% for me.
It's hard to get into specifics without going into more detail on what the jobs are and what I'd be doing, but I'd rather not delve into that right now. Neither job has been officially offered to me, but I have really good feelings on both them. Maybe in the end it will work itself out and maybe I won't get offered one of the jobs? If they both get offered then I've really got to decide where I want my future to be. Do I go with the money or do I go with something I love to do?
I know that honestly, as an outsider reading this it seems like a simple answer. Go with what you love. But, to me, it so much harder. I also love office admin type jobs as well and I know I'll be successful if I go that route too.
I guess I'll be back in a few weeks to post how it all goes.
